These instructions are proposed to help our customers running
Windows Me to configure a connection with SupraLink Solutions.

Note 1: Starting from December 1, 2001,
it is required to include the area code 514 to dial into Montreal
dialup numbers for users who are calling within the
450 area code.

A. Installing Dialup Networking for PPP
Please follow the next
steps.
1. Go to the taskbar and start up the Control
Panel.
You'll see the following window.
2. Double-click on Network.
You'll see a screen similar to the
following window.
Note: If you DO NOT see both Dialup Adapter and TCP/IP listed, see
Addendum I
Dialup or TCP/IP.
3. For home use, the above two items
are required.
4. Click on TCP/IP
->Dial-Up Adapter.
5. Click on Properties
You'll see the following screen. The Enable DNS option
under the DNS Configuration tab must be checked.
6. Click on DNS Configuration
and do the steps listed below.

Click
on Enable DNS
-
Under Host,
type your
computer a name
-
Under Domain,
type: supralink.net
-
Click in the area with 3
dots
-
Type
the following: 216.191.21.1 -
Then click on
Add
-
Repeat
the above three steps to enter the number:
216.191.21.2 -
Click on the smaller rectangle
under the Domain Suffix Search Order
-
Type: supralink.net
-
Click on
Add
Your screen should look like the
one below, except the host name, may be different.
7. Click on Advanced. The
option Set this protocol to be the default protocol
may be grayed out. If this is the case, go to step 8. Otherwise, a
checkmark is needed in the box next to the option.
8. Click on OK.
9. You should be back to the Network
screen from step 2. Click on OK.
10. The system will ask you to restart
your computer. Click on Yes.

Setting Up Connection Phone Numbers
Upon restarting your machine,
Section I, step 10, you may have the Control Panel open. Close
it.
1. On the desktop, double-click on My
Computer. You'll see the following window.
2. Double-click on the
Dialup Networking
link. You'll see the following window.
3. Double-click on Make New Connection to
create a new dialup connection icon. The box under Type a name
for the computer you are dialing is highlighted. Enter a name
of your choice For example: SupraLink.
4. Click on Next to move along to
the next screen where you will input the phone number to be dialed
to connect to SupraLink Solutions.
5. Fill in the area code and phone number
you wish to connect to, such as 735-8868, 735-7889 or 735-9430
and click on Next.
6. Click on Finish. You should be
back to Dialup Networking screen with a new icon.
7. Right-click on the newly created icon in Dialup Networking. You will see the following window.
8. Click on Properties. You'll see
the following window.
9. Click on Networking. You should
set up the screen as follows.
10. Click on OK. You are now back to
the Dialup Networking screen. You are now ready to dial up and
connect.
You will have to do the above
procedure to create an icon for each telephone dialup number.

Loging onto the SupraLink Solutions
Please follow the next steps.
1. If the Control Panel is open,
close it.
2. Open My Computer.
Click on the Dialup
Networking link.
3. Double-click on a dialup connection icon
and you will see the following screen.

Type in your username as follows,
depending on your system, your_username@your_system_name
-
Type in the password associated
with the account you have just entered
Note: The Save Password box
may be checked if you have a secure machine. If the box is checked,
you will not have to enter your password for each connection. If
you are using a public accessible machine you should not check this
box.
4. Click on Connect. The modem will
now begin to dial the number and you will begin to see the status of
the dialing, connection, and verification of your account.
Once the modem establishes a
connection, you will see a dialog box, similar to the one below pop
up on your screen. Check the option Do not display this message
again and then click on Close.
The final box will show the following
window.

Connected to xxxx
-
Connected at modemspeed
-
duration: timeconnected
Italicized items are dependent on
your equipment and the telephone number dialed. In some cases the
final box will appear minimized in the right hand side of the taskbar itself.
You are now connected to SupraLink
Solutions.
5. If you have a Web browser such as
Netscape or Internet Explorer, you can start the program.

Addendum
I: Adding A Modem To Windows Me
Follow the next steps.
1. Go to the task bar and start up the
Control
Panel.
You'll see the following window.
2. Double-click on Modems. You'll
see the following window.
Note: If there is no modem
installed you will see picture 2a, click on Next, then go to
Step 3. If there is a modem installed you will see picture 2b.

Note: Your modem may not be a
Sportster. It may be any variety of modems. If you see the correct
modem listed, click on Cancel. If you do not see your modem
listed, then click Add from Modems Properties.
3. You'll see the following screen while
Windows tries to detect your modem.
If the computer finds a modem, you
will see picture 3a. If the computer does not find the modem you
will see picture 3b. Picture 3b indicates one of two things: There
is no modem or the modem is not recognized by Windows Me.

If you see picture 3a and the modem
found is the correct one, click on Next. If the correct modem
is not detected, click on Change. If you see picture 3b click
on Next.
You will see the following window.
Select your modem by choosing the
company in the left window and the modem type in the right window.
If you do not know which modem you have, contact your dealer or look
in your modem manual.
4. Note: You may have to select
which port the modem is connected to. Consult your modem manual if
you're unsure.
5. Click on OK.
You'll see the following window.
6. Click on Finish.
Your modem has been installed.

Addendum
II: Adding TCP/IP
You are currently at the Network
Window.
At this point you DO NOT see the TCP/IP
-> Dialup Adapter.
1. Click on Add. You'll see the
following window.
2. Click On Protocol and click on
Add.
You'll see the following window.
3. In the left window, Select
Microsoft.
4. In the right window, scroll down and
select TCP/IP.
5. Click on OK.
At this point, you will be at the Network
Window. You should have TCP/IP installed.

Addendum
III: Area Codes and Call Waiting
We will assume that you have already
made your dialup connection icon. If you have not, see Section
B: Setting Up Connection Phone Numbers.
If you are calling from a phone that
is outside the SupraLink Dialup Numbers, you will need to change the
area code.
1. Double-click on the dialup connection
icon. You will see the following screen.
2. Click on Dial Properties. You'll
see the following window.
3. In the field called Area Code, type in
the area code you are dialing from. For example, if your number is
732-xxx-xxxx, you should type 732 in the Area Code field.
4. If you have call waiting and you don't
want the tone to disrupt your modem connection, you should do the
following to turn it off. In the Local/regional calling area, you
dial *70 to disable call waiting. To do this in Windows Me, make the
following changes in the Dialing Properties window. Check the option
that says To disable call waiting, dial. To the
right of this, click on the down arrow key and select *70. After
following steps 3 and 4 your screen should look like the picture
below:
5. To define the area code rules, click on
the Area Code Rules button. You will see the Area Code
Rules window. The box before Always dial the area code, 10-digit
dialing under When calling within my area
code needs to be checked. Click on OK to return to the Dialing Properties window.
6. After you have done this, click on the Apply
button, and then click on OK. You are back to the Connect To window. Under the
Phone number
box, you should see something like this:
*70 7324457100, if you disable the call waiting, or 7324457100.
After you define the new settings, make a successful connection to
save them for future use.
